The Ultimate Chili Fest is Headed Back to the Beach

Grab your sunglasses, sunscreen — and favorite tasting spoon — because The World Championship Chili Cook-off just announced that the event is headed back to the beach in 2022. After a successful debut in Myrtle Beach, event organizers have planned a return to the Grand Strand for its grand finale to the 2022 chili season with the 55th WCCC.

“Myrtle Beach was an incredible location and host to our 54th Annual Chili Fest,” said Mike McCloud, President and CEO of WCCC. “The support we received from the local community, businesses and thousands of tourists was overwhelming, and we are thrilled to be planning an even bigger event for 2022 in beautiful Myrtle Beach.”

While the dates for the event are still in permitting process, the excitement is already brewing amongst chiliheads and competitors all over the country as they prepare to flock to the East Coast for what will likely be the biggest chili championship ever.

To catch all the sights and sounds of WCCC, check out the new “sizzle reel” released by the organizers. It captures a tasty snapshot of all the beer gardens, celebrities, music entertainment, muscle cars — and yes, hundreds of chili bowls — that occurred during the Ultimate Chili Festival in 2021.
