It’s all so much more than a cup of chili while the world is upside down!

 It is with great sadness that we announce the cancellation of the 25th Annual Hanover Chili Cook Off. This event is a staple of the Hanover community and Labor Day weekends for the past 25 years but there is far too much uncertainty in our world today to risk the health and safety of our faithful attendees, volunteers, chili cooks, vendors, sponsors and entertainers.

The true impact of this decision is the not easily seen. Yes, we will miss the fun times, live music, chili-cook rivalries and all the rest. But the true impact will be felt most by the nonprofit organizations that have come to rely on the sponsorship, contributions and donations raised by this event. With that in mind, we would kindly ask you to consider making a donation to support the organizations in our community that the Cook Off would have provided funding to this year. Every dollar our Cook Off community can provide to these organizations will help them to continue to provide vital services in our community. These contributions will be collected through September 12. We will announce the community support with all of the fanfare that we normally do, and provide the funds directly to the organizations the Cook Off has supported in the past.

We understand that there will be some disappointment with this decision but we know that this is the right one to make for the health and safety of all involved. The Chili Cook Off will never compromise what we know is the heart of Hanover! With your generosity through the years the Chili Cook Off has grown to be a major contributor to those in need in Hanover. Let’s come together once again and keep that spirit alive. We look forward to seeing you all next year on September 5, 2021 for the 25th* Hanover Chili Cook Off!
