2018 Big Bear Lake Chili Cook-Off - July 14

The Big Bear Visitors Bureau is pleased to host the 2018 Big Bear Lake ICS World-Qualifier Cook-Off on Saturday, July 14, at the Bartlett Events Area in the Village from 11am to 7pm.  The prize purse will be $4,000!

A big THANK YOU to the Old Miner’s Association for all of their hard work and efforts in bringing and hosting this event in Big Bear Lake.  With the baton passed, the Visitors Bureau invites you to participate in this year’s competition. There are three options:

  1. Cooking team- Compete in 3 categories: traditional red, chili verde and/or salsa.
    Participating teams must be ICS members and memberships are available at $10 for a single event.  Upon sign-up, our event coordinator will confirm your registration and provide event details.

    NEW to 2018 is the launch of a revolving award for the top Bear Valley Chili Master. Be the first to win this award, prize money and bragging rights as the ‘People’s Choice’ for the Big Bear Valley.  All local communities are eligible. 
  2. 10’ x 10’ Vendor Booths are available to participate in the artisan vendor marketplace.
    Food prepared on-site, pre-packaged food and artisan-inspired merchandise vendors are desired for this event.

  3. Volunteers to help greet and serve this well-established community event are needed - be a part of the event team and sign-up today!

The event will be free to the public featuring tasting kits available for sale.
