Bria is a 9-year-old competing in her second cook-off. She's no stranger to these events, having grown up around them with her dad and sister. As the family jokester, Bria always manages to make people smile. Of course, she's also a die-hard Philly sports fan who loves attending games. Before the cook-off, Bria enjoyed a fun day out with her friends Lisa, Danielle, Brooke, and Riley to ease her nerves, including a trip on the Ferris wheel. She's especially close with the "PA Posse" and is grateful for all the support she's received from the Levys, Willises, Grahams, and Richcreeks.

Ingredients

Spices
6 tbl of Mild Bills Chili Spices
2 tbl of All Things Chili Spices (I like the champ blend!)
1 tbl of paprika
1tbl of garlic powder
1tbl of onion powder
2 tbl of cumin
Salt to taste.
1teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
2lb of tri tip from Colonial Village in Havertown (tell Eddie and the butchers hello!)
Sauce
16 oz of chicken broth
8oz tomato sauce
A few cloves of garlic
2tbl of paste

Instructions

Before attempting any task, ensure you are wearing your lucky tin foil hat. With that in place, you'll be sure to succeed!
In a separate bowl, mix the spices together. Divide the mixture into 3 small containers and add a bit of beef broth to each. Set these aside.
In a saucepan, bring the sauce to a boil. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer. Add the first spice blend and let cook for 45 minutes.
While the sauce simmers, cook the meat. Once the meat is nicely browned, drain it in a strainer to remove any excess grease.
Add the cooked meat and the second spice blend to the simmering sauce. Let this cook for another 45 minutes.
Towards the end of the cooking time, stir in the third spice blend and some salt. Taste the dish and add more salt if needed before serving.
