Join us in Taylorville, The "Chili Capital Of Illinois", the weekend of July 26, 2026 where chili cooks will be competing, traveling from different states, all providing public sampling of their days best Chili, while it lasts. Indoor venue, open to the public. All proceeds go to Taylorville VFW. Food available for purchase, cash bar, drinks Specials, Basket Raffles, 50/50 drawings. Live Entertainment “The Kitchen’s Band “ 2pm to 5pm.
You must be an ICS Member to compete. Entry fees are separate per category (i.e. Red, Homestyle, Verde, etc.) and will be collected independently by the Cook-off Organizer. Please contact the organizer (info at top) for more information.
THIS IS A 2026 QUALIFIER
• Cooking will be inside.
• 8ft table and chairs provided. There are no table assignments, cooks set up first come first serve.
• Cooks provide their own portable stoves, pans, and other supplies.
• We are working on early set up immediately follow the Illinois State Awards presentation at the Christian County Fair. The VFW is located just behind Ace Hardware across the street from the fairgrounds.
• Back to back with Illinois State Chili Cookoff at the Christian County Fair
ALL CONTESTANTS must prepare ONE gallon of People’s Choice chili (PC).
Please note that the # of gallons of PC is per cook not per category but we are encouraging 1 gallon for each category you'r competing in
